Reliable Water. Resilient Future.

Town of Eatonville Drinking Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Renewal Program

Welcome to Eatonville

As one of the oldest African American municipalities in the United States, the Town of Eatonville, Florida, holds a proud legacy of community, culture, and resilience. Our mission is to preserve our historic roots while proactively addressing modern infrastructure challenges to ensure a sustainable, vibrant future for generations to come.

The Challenge

For decades, the Town of Eatonville has experienced aging and undersized water and waste water systems, leading to frequent service disruptions, inefficiencies, and safety concerns. These outdated systems no longer meet the demands of our community or modern environmental and health standards.

Our Commitment to Change

The Town is committed to transforming its critical infrastructure through a transparent, inclusive, and community-driven approach. With support from state and federal programs, we are investing in a comprehensive renewal of water and waste water systems to improve service reliability, quality of life, and environmental sustainability.

Our Approach

The infrastructure improvement program is funded by grants and loans through the State Revolving Fund (SRF) and the Community Development Block Grant–Mitigation (CDBG-MIT).

Guided by the town’s master water and wastewater plans, our approach includes:

Community Engagement and Inclusion
  • Prioritizing local and minority-owned business participation in design and construction.

Environmental Responsibility
  • Ensuring all work meets state and federal environmental regulations.

Transparency
  • Hosting regular meetings and updates throughout the project.

Project Phases

The project is being implemented in multiple phases over the next few years:

Phase 1
Planning and Design

Includes surveys, modeling, and environmental assessments.

Phase 2
Water System Improvements

Replacing aging water lines, relocating utilities for road widening, and upgrading storage and pumping facilities.

Phase 3
Wastewater Upgrades

Lining or replacing clay pipes, updating lift stations, and improving sewer collection systems

Phase 4
New Water Treatment Facility Construction
Phase 5
Final Connections and Testing

Benefits to Our Community
